Referee Certification

A national Referee Certification Program is offered through every State. Referees are certified as state, regional or national level officials. Any CVRA member who wishes to become a certified referee may participate in this program by contacting the CVRA referee program administrator, Doug Gilman. There will be several referee clinics offered during the 2007-2008 sesason. These clinics are focused on educating everyone how to be a better referee. Additionally, a certification test is administered. You can study ahead of time for this test by reading the USA Racquetball Offical Rulebook. Those receiving a minimum score of 86 will be able to take the next step, which is refereeing 10 matches (2 of which have to be "assessed"). Once this is done, the person will receive a referee certificaiton card from USA Racquetball. The certification is valid for 3 years.

Refer to the Clinic Schedule for a listing of the clinics being offered this season.
