Congratulations to Virginia's World Medalist

Congratulations to the Number TWO female player in the WORLD representing the Number ONE team in the WORLD: Kelani Lawrence.

In her first ever appearance at the International Racquetball Federation World Championships, she fought through an exceptionally tough draw, defeating Irish National Champion Aisling Hickey, Chilean National Champion and LPRT Pro Carla Muñoz, Bolivian Champion and LPRT Pro Angelica Barrios, and two time worlds champion, 6 time PanAm champion, and four time US Open Champion Rhonda Rajsich. She played a tough opponent in the worlds most decorated female player, Paola Longoria, who ultimately grasped the gold.

On her journey to silver, she secured qualification to the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, AL. Coached by Jim Durham and her Hall of Fame mother Malia Kamahoahoa Bailey, Kelani played lights out all week in the qualifying rounds and in the elimination bracket. Congratulations to Kelani and the entire Team USA and their support staff for an amazing showing and bringing home the hardware!
